How to Assemble Envelope Liners

Envelope liners serve to compliment your invitation’s color palette and/or pattern. They're the first thing your guests see when they open their envelope and they help bring an extra burst of character to your suite. Here at Art by Ellie, we offer limitless options of envelope liners, both solid and patterned, custom-printed or ready-made, and we can either install them for you, or send you all the supplies to DIY! Liners are not hard to assemble, however, there is a certain little groove to it...

Here are our tried and true techniques for installing envelope liners:

Insert the liner into the envelope and center top to bottom and left to right. Line up the edge of a ruler where the envelope flap should fold then fold the flap and liner down over the ruler so that it creates a crease in the liner. Reopen the flap, remove the ruler, realign the liner left to right if needed, then fold down the liner and use a piece or two of double-sided tape on the back of the top of the liner and then close the envelope flap down and rub over it with your hand a few times. To take it a step further, you can also go over the envelope crease with a bone folding tool. Beautiful!
