When our client Alexis was planning the wedding of her dreams last year, she knew exactly what she wanted for her elegant California wedding paper goods, and we were thrilled to bring it all to life! The couple exchanged their vows at church, and their wedding reception followed at the California Theatre, a historic "movie palace" in San Jose. Naturally, we designed, printed, and cut custom movie ticket-style escort cards with the text "admit one" or "admit two" for couples (a fabulous idea by the bride).
Additionally, Art by Ellie created the ornate gold and ivory invitation suite, which included a traditional RSVP response card and envelope, a reception card (incorporating a sketch by the mother of the bride of the California Theatre marquee), a monogrammed gold belly band for some contrast, and mailing envelopes complete with address printing. In addition, for the wedding day, we designed the couple's wedding ceremony program, a large welcome sign for the reception venue, the reception dinner menu, escort cards (of course), various tabletop signage, and monogrammed favor tags, as well as stationery for the couple's thank you notes.
In addition to the obvious love we have for those ticket-style escort cards, we love how the design connects throughout the many pieces of their paper suite using their monogram, the ornate scrollwork, and the matte gold color, all clearly coordinating but without being too "matchy."
Enjoy a sampling of their wedding photos below (notice their custom ice cream sandwich bar by Cream... best idea ever!!), as well as a few photos we styled and shot in-house to showcase their paper goods. We love the theatre marquee, too!
